How we stay free

Affiliate disclosure

BJJMath earns commissions from some links, at no cost to you. Here's how that works and how we keep it honest.

Last updated: June 2026.

BJJMath is free to use and is supported by affiliate commissions. This disclosure explains that relationship plainly, in keeping with U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidance on endorsements.

What an affiliate link is

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or not.

Who we partner with

We participate in affiliate programs including BJJ Fanatics (instructional videos), gi and gear brands such as Origin, Hyperfly, Tatami and Kingz, and the Amazon Associates program for long-tail gear. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

How we keep it honest

Three rules govern every affiliate link on this site:

Recommendations follow the math, not the commission. A gi suggestion appears because it fits the size or weight class the calculator returned — not because it pays the most. We are not paid to change a calculator's answer, ever.

Every affiliate link is marked. Affiliate links carry rel="sponsored nofollow" and sit inside clearly labelled blocks, not disguised as neutral content.

Editorial independence. Brands do not review or approve our calculators or methodology before publication.
