BJJ Gi Rotation Calculator
Work out how many gis you actually need. It comes down to how often you train and how long your gis take to dry — so you're never reaching for a damp one.

The math is simple once you frame it as a laundry-turnaround problem. A gi must be washed after every session and fully dried before the next wear. If you hang-dry, a gi is out of rotation for about two days; a dryer turns it around overnight. Multiply your weekly sessions by that turnaround and add one for breathing room, and you have the number of gis that keeps you covered.
Wash after every session — always
This isn't negotiable. A sweat-soaked gi left in a bag is a breeding ground for the bacteria and fungi behind mat skin infections. Washing after every session is the single biggest thing you can do for hygiene, and it's the reason a second (or third) gi is worth it: it means a hard training week never leaves you choosing between a wet gi and skipping the wash.
